“Outlook” is a series of photographs shot in Iceland in the fall 2015, where my family and I stayed temporarily. Outside our bedroom window was a lush backyard that I was inspired to photograph and next to the window was a magnetic tablet where I hung pictures that I cut out of the local newspaper. I was especially moved by imagery of dispossessed refugees and wanted to juxtapose them with the confines of our protected space. Over these four months the tablet gradually filled with both press photos as well as images related to our family. The series consists of over 80 images highlighting what was happening in the world while time visibly passed outside the window.
