Outlook

Outlook examines the fragile boundary between domestic sanctuary and external crisis. Created during a temporary stay in Iceland in the autumn of 2015, the series centers on a bedroom window framing a lush backyard, set beside a magnetic board that steadily collected newspaper clippings and everyday personal mementos. Moved by images of the escalating refugee crisis, the work deliberately juxtaposes a protected family space with the harrowing reality of global displacement. Spanning more than 80 photographs across four months, Outlook tracks time passing by observing the seasonal shifts in the garden outside while bearing witness to turbulent human events.
